Open for dinner nightly and weekend brunch, Basalt greets guests with a clean, modern atmosphere, seasonal California cuisine and an extensive bar program with signature cocktails and beer and wine on tap. The oft-changing menu sources locally-grown ingredients and draws tonal influences from the earliest traditions of Mexican and Spanish cooking.
Moving with the seasons and availability of local produce, the menu is constantly evolving and could include dishes such as Summer Pickles with pole beans, tomatoes, peppers; Heirloom Melon Salad with Armenian cucumber, marcona almonds, queso fresco, tarragon oil; Crab Quesadilla with Oaxaca cheese, jalapeño, cabbage & celery salad; or the Atlantic Salmon with smoked eggplant, herb salad, nicoise olives. Weekend brunch ushers in satisfying dishes that could include Brentwood Corn Omelette with cotija, avocado, chipotle crema, heirloom squash; Breakfast Tacos with bacon, salsa, grilled nectarines; and Hangtown Fry with fried oysters, bacon, shallot, charred poblanos, arugula, cherry tomatoes. Bar bites include Chicken Wings with adobo glaze, cilantro yogurt and Tuna Ceviche with avocado, jicama, tomato water.
Cocktails are not to be missed at Basalt and similarly change with the seasons, bringing freshness and whimsy to the ever-changing libation list. Start with the signature Basalt Negroni with Spirit Works gin, Campari and Italian vermouth, which have been rested over basalt rock; or the Roses Are Free with reposado tequila, aperitif rosso, dry curacao, anise hyssop.
Local tap and bottle beers are also celebrated and can include Humboldt Red Nectar Ale, Fieldwork Outdoor Pilsner or the Stone Delicious IPA. A robust selection of wines will entice the oenophile and are available by the glass, carafe or bottle.
Basalt also has a a variety of spaces for your next gathering, from our fully-closeable private dining room with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking our patio and the Napa river, to a wrap-around patio with a fire pit to our main dining room and bar and lounge.
